The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre offers screening, advice on current treatments and counselling for affected individuals, their families and carers.
There is a special group for parents of newly diagnosed babies and antenatal counselling for women at risk of having a child with sickle cell disease and Beta Thalassaemia

The Emergency Minor Treatment centre is a nurse-led walk-in clinic where adults and children over one year old can be assessed and treated for a variety of minor injuries including:
- Cuts, grazes and wounds
- Minor burns and scalds
- Sprains and strains
- Minor head injuries
- Minor eye injuries
- Removing some foreign bodies
We cannot treat children under 1 year old or certain conditions including:
- General illness
- Chest or abdominal pain or injuries
- Diarrhoea and vomiting
- Headaches
- Rashes
- Back or neck pain
- People who have been assaulted
- Road traffic accidents
